The collection was inspired by the awakening of consciousness, the love of self, and the whole acceptance of my Africanism. Before now, we have been taught that our gods are useless, and that our traditions are hostile and barbaric, while in true sense it’s full of life and lessons. The sheer represents our source of livelihood in the riverine area of Lagos, which is our fishing net, while the Ankara embodies our identity as Africans.

Badesere Aboyade-Cole, the visionary fashion designer and founder of Badesere Lagos, is a native Lagosian, proud of his Yoruba roots and eager to share Nigerian culture and tradition with the world. With a Bachelor's degree from Babcock University, Badesere honed his people skills and business acumen, laying the foundation for his successful entrepreneurial journey. His designs have graced runways and editorial spreads, and his dedication to empowering young people has created jobs and opportunities in the community.
